An artist hand-draws your pet's portrait from your photo and laser-engraves it on the heart face, with their name curving below in the same hand. Inside the heart, a sealed cavity holds a small portion of ashes, a wisp of fur, or whatever you need kept close. Worn full or worn empty: what matters is the heart shape that says what the chamber doesn't have to.

Is the heart's chamber sealed against daily wear?

Yes — screw cap with rubber O-ring at the base of the heart. Stays securely closed for everyday wear; we recommend taking it off before showering or swimming. Worn empty also works; many wait weeks or months before filling.

Can my pet's likeness translate to a heart shape if their face doesn't fit naturally?

Yes — the heart shape is wider at top, narrowing at bottom, which actually frames a face well (forehead + ears at top, snout/chin at bottom). The artist composes specifically for this shape. If your pet has unusual proportions (extreme snout length, very small face area), we'll email before drawing.

How is this different from the disc-shaped photo urn?

Same hand-drawn portrait, same urn function. The heart shape carries grief symbolism — chosen when the form itself matters. The disc reads cleaner and more universal. Pick heart if the shape says something; pick disc if you want the most visible portrait.

Will the portrait fade or wear off on a piece worn daily?

No — laser engraving cuts into the steel structurally, not a layer of ink or print sitting on the surface. The portrait stays readable through years of daily wear, showering, and incidental contact.
